Nature for Massachusetts Legislation
The Brookline GreenSpace Alliance is a leading member of the Nature for Massachusetts Coalition, which advocates for state legislation that would create a permanent Nature for All Fund to protect and restore forests, farms, wildlife habitats, and water resources as well as creating parks and trails.
By setting aside just a portion of the revenue generated from the existing sales tax collected from the sale of sporting goods, we would be able to dedicate as much as $100 million every year to parks and natural resource conservation in Massachusetts without any increase in taxes. Right now, we’re engaged in a signature-gathering campaign to put this legislation on the November 2026 ballot. We need volunteers to help gather signatures in Brookline and other communities around the state. Even if you can offer just a few hours, please email Ernest Cook at ernestinboston@gmail.com
We also hope that you will sign the petition, which will be available at BGSA events, the Farmer’s Market, and elsewhere around Brookline. You need to sign in person, not online
